Pamela

Pamela Anderson
★★★★

I'm so glad to see the wave of documentaries being made about women who were wronged in the 90s (like Martha Stewart, Victoria Beckham, etc.). It's great to hear them tell their life story from their perspective.

This documentary gives us context for Pamela’s decisions, shows us what really happened with the sex tape, gives us glimpses into her life as a daughter and a mother, and shows her vulnerability as she speaks about her love for the father of her children.

Interspersed with current footage is archival footage from her various jobs on screen, her work with Playboy, and footage from home movies. Additionally, some passages from her many diaries over the years are read out loud.

In this documentary, we get to see the real Pamela, and in doing so see for ourselves (and hear her say) that she isn’t and never was a victim. She was just following her heart, living her life, and trying as best she could to create a safe and loving environment for her sons.

The way this ended felt great. It shows her with a very healthy mindset, comfortable in her skin, and taking on creative challenges that are perfect for her.
