Altered Carbon, S01
Breath-taking science fiction!
The first season of this series is visually stunning, psychologically upsetting, intellectually provocative, and extremely well told.
The world they built for this series is super solid with a wholly believable political structure, compelling terminology, a loveable AI character, and a storyline that keeps us on our toes until the very last minute.
The casting is excellent. The lead character (played by Swedish-American actor, Joel Kinnaman), especially, was perfectly chosen for his ability to get across intense emotions with very little movement of his face. One can feel the pent energy of his character in every scene.
At the end of this, one important storyline was left open to give the second season purpose. That was a mistake, in my opinion.
These 10 episodes ended in such a blaze of glory, that should have been the end of the story.
Remarkable storytelling!
