His & Hers
This is a very well written slight-of-hand murder mystery. We think we’re sure who did it from the first episode, then a couple of episodes in, we change our minds and are again sure who is doing it. In the last episode, we learn something important and our opinion of who is doing it pivots again, but this time we’re really sure. Until the last 5 minutes when we learn who really did it.
The writing does an excellent job of pulling us toward certainty without being obvious. The casting is great, the pacing is exceptional, and the tension is palpable from the first moment to the last.
This TV series is an adaptation of a novel by Alice Feeney, which was published in 2020. The name refers to the fact that there are two sides to every story. In this case, one is a detective and the other is a journalist and while they both think they know who did it, they’re both wrong.
