Don't Worry Darling
What a movie! It's put together in such a way that the viewer is puzzling it together until the last few scenes when the women in the audience understand it as the ultimate dystopian nightmare.
I had to sit in silence for a few minutes after it ended to take it all in, stabilize myself, and collect my thoughts.
This movie is upsetting, infuriating, and deeply rooted in chauvinism. It's evil, wrapped in pastels and 60s charm. There is a bit of retribution toward the end but we don’t understand what it really means, and it’s certainly not enough. It ends like a melody that is missing the final resolution chord.
The lovely Florence Pugh carries this haunting and deeply uncomfortable movie brilliantly.
